Our Mission

Please keep praying for the case here in Nairobi, in which Muslims have taken a Christian widow to court for burrying her formerly muslim husband's body in a Christian way. Just before he died, this man was led to Christ by one of our students (in the Nairobi International School of Theology). Then others of our students did follow up and they were sure that this man had surely given his life to Christ. They bought him a Bible and he was reading it and enjoying its message. However, The Muslim Supreme Coouncil here, is incensed, claiming that the widow violated this man's "human rights", by burrying him in ways contrary to his religion. They took the the matter to court and wanted the judge to make a quick judgement in their favor, but he refused and demanded for a fair and proper trial. The case is on this week. The deceised family, friends and our students will be called upon any time to give evidence!

This might be an interesting case for evidence must be adduced that the deceised had become a Christian before he died. Our student, Nadeline, who shared the gospel and led the deceised to Christ plans to take a number of Four Spiritual Laws (evangelistc booklet she read to man) to court and give them as exhibit of how she shared the gospel with the man and how he made the decision to become a Christian. Our other students will give evidence on how they did "follow up" on the man and show that he had surely given his life to Christ and was growing in his new faith. The deceised's family will also be called upon to give evidence of what they know about the man's conversion.

Of course the Muslims will try to disprove the conversion and try to show that the deceised was a bonfide Muslim. I think it is going to be an interesting case. However, it's possible that that Muslims may not want to follow proper reason, but are likely to turn to violence when they see that they are being defeated. However, Satan is a loser! Every scheme he invents to attack the Name of Christ and discredit Christianity boomerings and hits him hard in his face!

Please pray claiming Proverbs 21:30. Pray that the judge and all present in court will hear the gospel and turn to Christ or be strengthened in their faith. Pray for the widow, her family, and our students to stand firm and give clear evidence. We are not sure if the widow's lawyer knows Christ (earlier we had said it would be Fred Ojiambo, but we've just learned it will be a different person). Pray for wisdom for him and that if he does not already know the Lord, he will in the process come to give his life to Christ.

Pray also against the bizzare practice---of burning Bibles, right here, in Kenya. The calprits could be Muslims doing this or or some cult. Strange people get to a church or a Christian and courteously ask for a Bible as if they wante to read it. Then they disappear with it and it's never seen again. It is said that there are some people burning Bibles in Kenya so Christians don't have a Bible to read! In this way 1000's of Bibles have been burnt. Churches have warned Christians not to lend their Bibles to anyone they don't know. It is said that the late presidential aspirant, Mosoud Abiola (Muslim), of Nigeria, who had won the elections, but was cheated by the late Gen. San Abacha (also Muslim), that this man burnt a whole shipping container of Bibles (definitely 1000's of Bibles!).

Please pray for God's victory in all these cases. Pray for the gospel to triumph. Pray also for the protection of our students and school! Pray! Pray! Pray. Please also ask your Church to pray!

Sincerely,

Lazarus Seruyange
