Who We AreCalvary Chapel of Dayton is a small group of Christian believers who gather for the purpose of glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ. Our deepest desire is to know Christ and be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. Calvary Chapel of Dayton is affiliated with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, California, founded by Chuck Smith in 1965. Calvary Chapel of Dayton is non-denominational. We are not opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ. Our Purpose(For your convenience, verses are printed out at bottom of this page) Our main emphasis at Calvary Chapel of Dayton is to teach the whole Word of God verse-by-verse so that it is practical and can be applied to our daily lives ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Calvary Chapel of Dayton desires to exalt our Lord Jesus through contemporary praise and worship music ( Ephesians 5:19). Calvary Chapel of Dayton emphasizes the truth that we all depend on God's grace and His forgiveness of our sins ( Romans 3:23-24, Galatians 2:16,21). Calvary Chapel of Dayton seeks to provide a place for believers to fellowship together and to pray for each other ( Acts 2:42, Galatians 6:2). 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Ephesians 5:19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord. Romans 3:23-24 ...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Galatians 2:16, 21 Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified…I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Galatians 6:2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. © 1973, 1978 New International Version, used with permission. |
