Calvary Chapel of Jerusalem is a fellowship of believers, both
Jew and Gentile, in Yeshua gathered together to worship and serve
the King of Kings in Zion. (Pictured: Staff of CCJ)
Many attending Calvary Chapel are Russian immigrants who have
recently arrived from the former Soviet Union, who are literally
fulfilling the prophetic Scriptures before our eyes. Since 1988,
over one million have returned from the land of the north!
The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of
Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither
he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land
that I gave unto their fathers. (Jer 16:15)
As
thousands arrive each month, Calvary Chapel seeks to fill the
deep spiritual need in Israel. Our Lord said that the harvest
was ripe 2000 years ago and we see the same reality today! The
apostle Paul tells us in Romans 11 that the Jews were blinded
in part so that salvation could come to the Gentiles. And with
so many returning home we are seeing the eyes of the Jewish people
beginning to open.
Many believe the last days harvest began in 1967, the year Jerusalem
was reunited as the capital of Israel -- the first time since
King David. This also marked the beginning of the Jesus people
movement in California, from which Calvary Chapel was born.
