In addition to broadcasting, people are creating an MP3 (audio) file of their radio programs and weekly messages and making them available to others to download for free from the internet. This allows the person downloading the file to listen to the show or service at their convenience. For example, if Pastor Chuck Smith, from Calvary Costa Mesa was podcasting his "Word for Today" radio show (which he is), instead of finding it on the radio, you could have your computer automatically download the program and then you could listen to the broadcast at your convenience.

The term "pod" in podcasting comes from the fact that iPod is the mobile MP3 player that Apple Computers made popular.

So, podcasting is subscribing to audio programs that you can listen to WHEN and WHERE you want via an electronic file you download from the internet.

Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness." Downloading podcasts will also allow you to create a library of teachings for your personal Bible study and quiet time.
