Mission Tatarstan: Russia One of the many wonderful moves of the Gospel into the former U.S.S.R. is that into the Republic of Tatarstan, about 500 miles due east from Moscow. Half the population of 6 million is Slavic and half is Tatar. Kazan is the capital and at one time was the capital of all Russia, under the rule of the Kahn dynasty. About four years ago we were able to unite with other Calvary Chapels as a city team for Mission Volga, as an evangelistic outreach into Kazan. We have taken teams in continuously since then, helping with the churches, distributing Bibles and tracts by the thousands and building up the local body. The main thrust of Mission Tatarstan is to sow the seed in order to establish Calvary Chapels there. To do this we are continuously having materials translated into Russian and Tatar and printing them in mass quantities. Two of our former translators from Kazan are currently attending Calvary Chapel Bible College, here in California. Calvary Chapel Church Planting: Russia Since the opening of the former U.S.S.R. George Bryson has moved teams throughout western Russia, planting churches in more than 19 cities. They have trained, built up and equipped many new Russian Christians throughout this new frontier. We are working with these brothers to establish a future church in Kazan. Eastern European Outreach is: Eastern European Outreach has been involved with reaching into the former Soviet Block since before the 80's. Over the years the primary focus became that of ministering to the youth prisons throughout Russia. They are an extremely active force of the Gospel into the lives of thousands of young people. Sparrow's Gate: Mexico South of Tecate, in the Valley of the Palms is a haven for children who have been through so much heartache and abuse. Dean Tinney and his wife have built, with the help of Liberty and many more churches, the Sparrow's Gate Orphanage. Hope International is one of the few ministries to have a solid
impact into the Hindu culture of India. Since its initial start
in Mori, Hope International has branched out throughout India
with children's homes in Sitaranparam, Eluru, Gopavaram and the
tribal area of Marnidipalli as well as other areas. There are
more than 200 home grown "full-time" evangelists
preaching the Gospel there as well as a Christian School and
Christian Bookstore and shortly a Bible School. Thousands are
coming to Christ through this great ministry.

The Liberty Bookstore: In an effort to provide our people with good Biblical materials that are inexpensively priced and often unavailable locally, our church has recently opened a bookstore. All Bibles are priced at net cost and everything else is reduced greatly. Every Christian should build a solid family Biblical library and we want to help with this. Acts Ministries: Tracts Layne Livingston and his wife Kristy have been moved to provide tracts by the thousands to those who will use them. You will find them everywhere and at many Calvary Chapels. Layne is a dedicated Christian, serving on the board of Calvary Chapel of Hemet and at the helm of other ministries in the region.
