"And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor . . . The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD . . . Your testimonies also are my delight And my counselors . . . The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing . . . The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations . . . "Woe to the rebellious children," says the LORD, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin" . . . For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD, And has perceived and heard His word? Who has marked His word and heard it? . . . But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings . . . Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly . . . But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night."
