Hope For 9/11

Blue skies turn black - a way of life under attack
Peace & Safety seem far away
Lives are forever changed that fateful day

Broken hearts & memories
Witnesses of tragedies
Lives lost - How High the cost
Freedoms that we took for granted

Lord, help us in our time of need

Humanity clings onto hope
Others learning how to cope
Forgot that we had enemies
Arrogance turns to woeful pleas

Lord, forgive us for our greed

Folks supporting one another
One time enemies now called a brother
Realization of a common goal

Bring unity

Nervous thought - the fear it's brought
Uncertainty - new lessons taught

Lord, give us peace.

Hope is near - it has become quite clear
Our prayers are heard by a compassionate ear
God is here - with faith sincere
He can repair each broken heart and wipe away each tear

Heal us Lord

People come from across the land
Community - praying hand in hand
How can I help? What can I do?
Heroes made from people like you.

1 year ago today
We were reminded - it's time to pray
As we gather this anniversary day
Let us not forget
