Making
Peace With God
Realize that
you are a sinner.
Sin separates you from God and causes this deep loneliness to fester.
The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory
of God (Roman 3:23).
Recognize that
Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.
Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life (John
3:16)." God gave His very Son to die in our place.
As the Apostle Paul said, "He loved me and gave Himself for
me...(Galatians 2:20).
Repent of your
sin.
The Bible tells us to "repent and be converted (Acts
3:19)." The word "repent" means to change
our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we run toward
Him.
Receive Jesus
Christ into your life.
Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going
to church on Sunday. It is having Jesus Christ Himself taking residence
in your heart and life. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the
door [of your life] and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens
the door, I will come in... (Revelation
3:20).
What to Pray
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe and
thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I want to turn from
my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want
to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. As I read the Bible
and seek Christian fellowship, make me the kind of person You want
me to be.
In Jesus' name. Amen
