the intersection

I am excited to finally get our official website online after a year of our group’s existence. When this ride began for us we had much greater priorities than creating a website, but now we have one and we’re pretty happy about that. We got a surprising amount of visits to our temporary page so we know that traffic will only increase with this new site.

Obviously you can click around and explore the website but let me just give you a rundown of what we have here:

Our homepage features our “News & Announcements” section where we will post newsworthy items that we want everyone to be aware of. You’ll also find a brief introduction to our philosophy, and a link to our FAQ.

The “what & when” page simply provides info about what is going on and when. (You probably didn’t know this but we paid a team of marketing geniuses to come up with a name for that page.) If it’s happening, it will be displayed on there. It also features an article about why we get together as God’s people.

On the “location” page you’ll find information related to where we have our main services on Friday nights including a link to google maps so you can easily print out turn-by-turn directions. Ain’t technology grand?

The “contact” page is pretty standard - letting you know how you can reach us by phone, email, and snail-mail. From this page, you’ll also be able to sign up to receive regular email updates that we’ll most likely use to keep everyone informed of planned events.

We have a “photos” page where we’ll post pictures of life at The Intersection and the various official, and unofficial, events. We are restricted in the amount of space we have for photos, but we’ll try to post enough so that the page is worth visiting.

The “links” page directs you to resources and ministries that will help you grow in your walk with God and it also features helpful resources that we utilize.

Then there are the blogs, one of which you are reading right now. These should provide you with hours and hours of stimulating reading material. Well, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch. “The Sauce” is my blog where I’ll be posting articles from time to time regarding Jesus, the Bible, and the Christian life that hopefully you’ll find helpful or encouraging in some way. Why “The Sauce?” To be honest, it wasn’t something I put a lot of thought into, it just came in a flash. Then there’s “The Battlefield” where Felicity will be dropping personal notes to us from Afghanistan as much as she is able. “The Soak Zone” is not only what Brian Lee used to call the front row at our fellowship, but it’s also the name of his blog that he will update whenever he can take a break from his studies in Israel. If you don’t know how to contact Felicity and Brian directly, but would like to send greetings or words of encouragement, just send them to theintersection@calvarychapel.com and we will make sure they get it.
